Real scale study model (continue)

I made this model from the rhino files in last post. This building will sit on the entire side in Brooklyn. .
The right side of this picture will face the water
But my Professor. Jill doesn't like the llat roof(big box) in the right object so I made some change to it

  1. This is great. I can't wait to see sections, and how it works with the site

  2. i think that putting this onto the site and in context will enable you to give meaning and relevance to where and how you interlock your components.
the site is an elongated triangle which at the moment bears no relation to your building.
i am also curious to see this in plan as i believe when you begin to add stairs and real planning the richeness will be added.

  3. Hi Trung,

I am very pleased to see a physical model, and this is a great start. I do agree with your professor Jill that it was a bit boxy at first. I would also like to see what it might look like to break up the massing even further, perhaps merging/weaving the triangular site into the squares to make it a more dynamic shape, like Candy had suggested. Have you thought to express the vertical elements differently than the horizontal elements with different materials or openings, think Kahn's served and service concepts like he did for the laboratories at UPENN? Verticals more solid and horizontals more void or vise-versa?
